מיין שמש my-shemesh
An English translation of the letter from Rabbi Avigdor Nebenzahl, the esteemed rabbi of Jerusalem’s Old City.
"How painful and heartbreaking it is to see that certain people have risen with the aim of merging the Charedi public into the general public, and have established a party under the name "Tzibbur Hachareidi," whose entire essence amounts to the ruin and destruction of the Charedi public. As is well known, our preservation of the ways of life of those who "tremble for Hashem's word" lies solely in distancing ourselves from the corrupt external culture found outside our world.
Whoever removes himself from the community and departs from the leadership of the Torah giants, shlita, in favor of the leadership of those light-headed people who come to change the public and sow destruction within it, endangers, God forbid, the continued existence of his generations in holiness and purity. And as is known throughout history, all those who departed from the path of the great sages of Israel and devised ways to draw close to and integrate with the outside world brought themselves, and their descendants after them, to the brink of the abyss.
Therefore, in this period, it is incumbent upon everyone who is concerned for his own fate and that of his children to unite with the great sages of Israel and to vote for the United Torah Judaism list, marked Gimmel (ג'). May Hakadosh Boruch Hu guide us in the way of truth, and may we soon merit the coming of Moshiach, speedily in our days."
